Changing People | Moving Communities | Transforming Our World
FreshStart CDC, Inc. (“FreshStart”) is a nonprofit, community-based organization providing education programs, positive experiences, outreach services and affordable housing alternatives. We Exist To Serve Our Communities
FreshStart offers opportunities for under-served children, low income families/individuals, senior citizens and people with multiple challenges to have their practical needs satisfied and their living conditions improved. We intend to deliver solutions through our services, programs and housing initiatives in an effort to transform communities.
Our programs and services include such activities as working with thoughtful mentors to improve the lives of disadvantaged youth, by conducting health and wellness seminars to address community concerns such as sexually transmitted diseases and health education classes for teens and young mothers to address early pregnancy issues and infant care.
OUR CHILDREN
FreshStart CDC, Inc. in Oviedo seeks to improve the lives of our at-risk children and their families by providing programs and services designed to improve their living conditions, quality of education and ultimately create a safe environment for them and their families to live together.
OUR ADULTS
Learning is a life-long process. Today’s rapidly changing and technological world requires adults to learn new ways of doing their jobs or to change careers several times. FreshStart will help adults adjust to this new reality and achieve new career goals by providing assistance to those who are returning to educational institutions, participating in job related training and development, or attending continuing professional education seminars.
OUR SENIORS
FreshStart cares about seniors who may need assistance. Our senior care programs will address issues that affect the quality of their lives, such as access to long-term and preventive health care, disease prevention programs and food, nutrition and caregiver.
EDUCATION
Access to education is a basic human right. Education reduces poverty by providing the tools needed to succeed in life. Our initiatives will supplement and broaden the educational experiences of children and adults alike with the goal of providing a safe, structured and challenging learning environment for every person that attends.

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church (Oviedo, FL)

FreshStart has formed a strategic alliance with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Oviedo FL, Inc. (“Antioch”) and its Senior Pastor, Charles Jones. Antioch is a key stakeholder with a rich history and great love for Oviedo and the surrounding communities; many of Antioch’s members live in Oviedo and volunteer in several of Seminole county’s existing community-based organizations. FreshStart will be the “tactical arm” of Antioch, assisting it in realizing its own strategic intent, which is to “serve the practical needs of Oviedo’s local residents, Seminole County, the surrounding communities and beyond.” FreshStart will partner with Antioch on various activities and collaborate with its ministry leaders and members to provide an outlet for their organically developed community-based activities.
